All forms of art need a model or a muse. No artist in the history of art created his/her pieces without having a special someone or something that put the wheels of their imagination into operation. Either it’s your loving partner or a family member or a breathtaking view or even your pet animal, every artist used something from the above to get their minds going and their imagination to work.
Hungarian artist Flora Borsi used animals -not just pets- as her main source of imagination.
Her latest series, titled Animeyed, features her own face, where one eye in each photo is replaced by the eye of an animal.
Flora designes her look based on the animal that she is using each time and chooses carefully the colors for the background.
She plays with hiding and revealing the eyes or face to leave only the feminine form, exploring questions of female representation and the relationship between body and self.
