Why Is the Ocean So Scary?

Ocean is the only part of the world that we haven’t been able to explore and get to know completely and even when we try, our efforts are often fruitless. And it’s not only the dangerous creatures hiding underwater, or the countless spooky shipwrecks rotting at the bottom of the ocean for years and years. It’s something deeper than that (no pun intended); almost primal that anyone, no matter how familiar with the water, feels. So, why do we fear the ocean?

1. We can’t see what’s underneath the surface

2. We dive into a dark place that is completely unknown

3. Touching seaweed with our toes in one of the creepiest feelings

4. Knowing that the abyss is somewhere in there, but not knowing where exactly
