Artist Imagined How Famous Painting Characters Would Look Like If They Attended Festivals

Facebook | nemenyimarton

Márton Neményi is a photojournalist based in Hungary and after attending the Sziget festival, which is considered Europe’s Burning Man, he felt that something was missing. He decided to rewrite history by changing the settings of some of the most famous and respected paintings of history. Instead of seeing Mona Lisa simply sitting somewhere, we see her sitting on the front row of a festival waiting anxiously for the show to begin. Surprising twists like this are included in all 12 of his photo manipulations and we can’t be thankful enough for this new perspective on traditional art.

Marton doesn’t have a crazy Instagram following, but his fine art manipulations didn’t take long to attract the internet’s attention even though he published them on Facebook. Other of his projects include photos of refugees, people on the streets, portraits and field trips. You can view all of these projects by visiting his website.
