Getting a pet that will live with you in your house is not a decision that you should make fast. When you have a pet, you have to realize that you hold a life in your hands and that you are responsible for it. Unfortunately, a family in North Carolina decided to give away their 7-year-old cat Toby because he wasn’t getting along with their new cats. They found him a new home 12 miles away, but Toby found the strength to walk that distance back to his home only to discover for the second and final time that his humans dispiced him. They drove him to a shelter and asked the people there to euthanize him. Obviously, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals took things to its hands and decided to put Toby up for adoption. And guess what? Toby had a happy ending.
Toby was given to another family from his humans who took care of him for 7 years
Toby found the strength to walk the 12 miles distance back to his home only to realize that his people didn’t love him anymore.
Toby was rejected for a second time when his family dropped him at an animal shelter
Toby’s family couldn’t be more clear about not wanting him around their home and they dropped him at the nearest animal shelter.
They even asked for his euthanization
They might have been fearing for his second return back home, so they thought that the best solution would be to have him euthanized.
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals decided to put him up for adoption
When the shelter called the SPCA and asked them to help find Toby a new home, they happily said ‘yes’ and created a flyer with Toby’s journey.
