Apart from a favorite spot to buy makeup supplies and perfumes, Sephora seems to be the place of acceptance and progressive thinking. As part of a project named Classed for Confidence, Sephora decided to start a new project in which experienced makeup specialists will teach people who identify as transgender and non-binary makeup lessons. The lessons are offered in stores all around the world and each person gets a personalized lesson that lasts for 90 minutes.
Starting this June, Sephora will offer the services of its experienced makeup specialists to members of the transgender community.
The lessons are offered for free and each person will receive a 90-minute personalized lesson.
The lessons will include personalized skincare routine, tips on color-correcting and how to apply certain makeup techniques.
There are people who have been helped by Sephora’s accepting environment to start transitioning and actually finishing their journey.
Sephora wants to make people of all genders and sexual orientations feel welcome and comfortable when they are are in their stores.
The first lesson was given on May 22 at a store in Manhattan, where only a small group of transgender people participated.
After the lessons, every participant can exchange numbers with their teacher so they can be in touch in case any additional questions come up.
Before taking part at a lesson, you can watch the tutorial videos and see the quality that Sephora beauty experts can offer.
Sephora wishes to be a safe space for people regardless their gender and sexuality and so far they’ve done an amazing job at it. Let’s hope that these lesson will expand to even the smallest stores around the globe and not just at the most central ones.
