If you’re flying coach, you should probably not trust the cleanliness of the blackets and pillows. They just re-fold them and re-use them without washing them. Fortunately, this practise does not apply for first class flights.
6. They overcharge for rescheduling
If you need to reschedule your flight, you might realize that the fee for that action is higher that the price of your ticket. Airlines are legally allowed to charge that much because they claim they pay for the opportunity costs the company would incur if you missed your flight.
7. They delay food service until more people fall asleep
During night flights many airlines give the direction to delay food service until more people have fallen asllep and the flight attendants will have less work to do and less meals to distribute.
8. They terribly manhandle luggage
Handlers don’t care about your bags. They might throw them and squeeze them together if that’s what it takes to fit them in the plane. This means that you should never put fragile objects in your suitcases.
When it comes to airplanes, you definitely get what you pay for. The more money you spend, the better services you will receive. But, if you can’t spend more, at least have the knowledge of these cheap tricks that airlines play to extract more money from you.
