The Topiary Cat was created when Richard Saunders saw an ornamental shrub, which reminded him of his beloved cat while sleeping. At that moment he decided to start inflitrating a green like a bush cat instead of real bushed in existing landscapes. The cats are obviously not real, but are high-quality fantastical images that the surrealist artist himself creates. Since he uploaded the first image of The Topiary Cat on his Facebook page, the green feline has gone viral and continues to impress everyone who sees it for the first and even 10th time.
Richard Saunders believes that he made it 100% clear that these creatures are not actually real.
Although, there was still a 25% of people who thought that these creatures actually exist.
Richard is 69-years-old and his methods are quite old, meaning that he paints his surrealistic work in oil.
Each topiary cat that the artist creates gets multiple and often thousands of shares on Facebook.
A5 cards of his designs can be bought from here.
Sometimes when he tries to correct people about the authenticity of these images, they seem like they want to keep believing that they are real.
He never started this project to make money and all the internet attention came as a shock to him.
